In all 50 states it is legal to marry your second cousin. In 26 of the 50 states it is legal to marry your first cousin. Your second cousin is pretty far removed genetically and they may only be considered your cousin due to marriage or adoption. Since it is legal in every state if you want to marry your second cousin, go for it and good luck!

That being said, it is not illegal to marry your second cousin, assuming you still want to do so once she turns 18 which won't be for six years and you will probably have changed your mind a hundred times since then.

Children of siblings are FIRST COUSINS to each other. Children of FIRST COUSINS are SECOND COUSINS to each other. Children of SECOND COUSINS are THIRD COUSINS to each other.
