The Olympians ruled over Mount Olympus after the Titans were taken over by Zeus and his siblings. Gaea gave birth to Uranus through immaculate conception. And Uranus was later dethroned by his son Cronus who castrated him in order to become ruler of the titans also know as the elder gods. Married to Rhea she kept her son Zeus from being eaten by Cronus (he had made it a habit of swallowing their children) she tricked him into swallowing a stone instead of their son. The family tree of the gods and goddess's is one that is very sorted one. The troubles that they went through makes them one of the oldest dysfunctional families.
