First Camera Invented

There are differing views as to when the first camera was invented. There are stories of the first pinhole camera around 1000 AD. In 1827, the first picture using sunlight was made. These first photos took hours to make. In 1839 the first daguerreotype was made. Then many changes led up to the 1889 invention of the type of film commonly used in cameras today. Most people use the date of 1827 for the camera obscura.
