Fiscal policy is the use of government spending and revenue collection that influences the economy. Government spending and taxation are two methods that affect fiscal policy. Fiscal policy also refers to the effect of the budget outcome on economic activity overall. John Maynard Keynes invented fiscal policy in the 1930s.
