Fringe Benefits

Fringe benefits can vary depending on the employer themselves. Some fringe benefits that may be provided by the employer to the employee are retirement, childcare, paid vacation, sick leave, dental/ vision coverage, disability, profit sharing, and travel reimbursement. Several employers offer fringe benefits but they are not required to. The purpose of the employer offering these types of benefits is to keep the employee enticed to continue working for them, and also gives the employee "peace of mind", should there be a mishap. It also helps boost company moral. The employer also benefits because by offering fringe benefits, it helps attract more qualified employees. The employer is also able to claim the premiums as a tax deduction. Therefore, fringe benefits tend to benefit both the employer and the employee.
