Lumber Span Tables

A wood plank's maximum span depends on the kind of lumber, or engineered wood (particle board), of the plank. Visit the American Wood Council at http://www.awc.org/technical/spantables/tutorial.htm and find out more about lumber span tables. Each engineered wood floor manufacturer publishes specifications for each product. Check out TrimJoist at http://www.trimjoist.com for information on a hybrid engineered floor joist. As with all engineered wood products, be sure to check for any off-gasing.
