My company uses non disclosure agreements(NDA) all the time. We are in the technology field so we need to make sure we protect ourselves from any information that is leaked out. Basically these agreements are to create a mutually beneficial business relationship between the parties during the stage of information exchange and provision of services that are required to establish and set the stage for a real and tangible joint business opportunity. In other words, it protects the companies information while it is disclosed to an outside source. If the information is distributed to others, then the company can file a lawsuit against the outside source because of the signed NDA.
