Silver Nitrate Used to Cauterize

Silver nitrate is used to cauterize wounds in the body. It will turn a wierd kind of dark color after it is used. They do not use silver nitrate to cauterize without mixing it because it is a chemical that can be toxic. It is mixed with potassium nitrate. This keeps it from poisoning the system. It will cauterize a wound pretty immediate when it is heated and helps to keep people from bleeding.
