Verify Funds on a Check

If you would like to verify funds on a check, follow these simple steps. On the check you should see the name of a bank, along with a telephone number. Call that number. You should receive an option to verify funds. If the banks automated system does not have this option, simply press the corresponding number on your phone to speak with a bank representative. Either way, you'll need to provide the bank with check holder's account number. Some banks will then ask to verify the account holder's name. The last item of information you will need to provide them with is the amount of the check. The representative or automated system should then be able to tell you whether there is enough money in that account to cover the check.
