Formula to Calculate Azimuth
There is a web site that will use an online formula to calculate the distance and azimuth between two sets of coordinates on Earth. Azimuth is a reference to True North. The shortest distance between two points on the surface of a sphere is an arc not a line like is commonly believed. Similarly like using a string on a globe to determine distance. This program is helpful for metereological department to calculate latitude and longitude distance. It uses ellipsoidal approximation and distance formula. It also uses great circle formula to calculate azimuth between latitude and longitude.

This program will calculate the distance and azimuth (referenced to True North) between two sets of coordinates on the earth. Bearings or azimuths start with 0 degrees toward true north, 90 degrees east, 180 degrees south, and 270 degrees west (clockwise rotation).
