IP Hostname Trace
If you have a firewall installed on your computer, and you are online enough, you will get reports from your firewall about intruders. These intruders are usually just port scanners, trying to find vulnerabilities in your system. When the intrusion occurs you can usually perform a trace to identify your intruder by their ip or hostname. Performing a trace of ip address doesn't always provide you with a result though.
