Types of Diodes
There are many different types of diodes. A diode is a 2 terminal device which allows the transfer of current in one direction. Basically diodes are used for the purpose of rectifying waveforms and can be used within power supplies. There are light eliminating diodes (LED), avalanche diodes, zener diodes, and rectifier diodes just to name a few.
