Courtesy Respect for Other People

Showing courtesy and respect for other people is one way to feel good about yourself. It doesn't take much effort to flash a smile at someone, or to compliment a friend's new haircut. Studies have shown that people who use courtesy phrases such as "please," "thank you," and "excuse me" throughout life have a tendency to be more successful than those who don't. Being respectful of other people and their property requires one simple rule: treat them as you want them to treat you. If you can inject a healthy dose of courtesy and respect for others into your own everyday life, you'll notice that they'll begin to extend the same sentiments toward you.
