Grade Point Average
Your grade point average is also known as your GPA. You can calculate your GPA by adding the points you received and dividing it by the number of classes you took. The following point system has been assigned to the letter grades. A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0. So let's say you took 4 classes and got 2 A's, 1 B and 1 C. You would have gotten 12 points, you divide that by 4 and you have a 3.0 gpa.

There are two grade point averages that are relevant to your academic standing. Your semester grade point average is the average of your grades for any one given semester of your college career.

To compute your Grade-Point Average, multiply the number of quality points (shown for the letter grade on Grade Conversion Chart below) by the number of credits for that course. Divide the total number of points earned in all courses by the total number of credits.
