Despite all of its efforts to stay happy, the letter D still begins Depressed. Even though its the 4th letter of the alphabet, it feels Disconent and because it was Deprived of being first. Its Greek equivalent is Delta, and its Semitic letter, Dalet, may have evolved from the logogram for a fish or a door. On a happier note, the letter D is the fourth tone in the musical scale.
