Sample of Abstract Paragraph

Abstracts are written as a summation of a longer piece. A few points to consider: It is constructed into one or more paragraphs, uses an introduction, body and conclusion and follows the chronological sequence of the report or paper. There are two types of abstracts; Descriptive and Informative. A descriptive abstract conveys the content of the paper or report and includes the reason the report or paper was written, is usually under 100 words. It serves as an introduction only '" the reader must review the rest of the document to grasp the author's intent and findings. An informative abstract is shorter in length than a descriptive abstract and contains conclusions and results which then allows the reader to decide if they want to read the entire piece.
