Teaching Respect

Respect is best taught through example. When you are trying to teach someone respect then it is really true that to get it, you must give it. As you are dealing with the person, handle them in the same manner that you consider respectful. If it is a child, the best way to teach them to respect people, for example teaching them to say "yes sir" and "yes ma'am" to adults, is to say "yes sir" and "yes ma'am" when you are talking to them. It's never too early or too late to start being respectful. Everyone should be respected regardless of their age. Teach by example and you will usually be pleased with the results.
