Abbreviation Am PM

The abbreviation for am and pm for time have been a mystery for most people in life. The word ante meridiem is a.m.'s abbrevaiton. The word post meridiem is the abbreviation for p.m. Both words are from latin descent. Ante meridiem means before noon. The word post meridiem means afternoon. So it makes sense and it is easily understood why they chose to use the abbreviations instead of the real words which are too long and weird looking.
