Elocution Poems

Elocution by definition is the art of public speaking in which gesture, vocal production, and delivery are emphasized. Poetry traditionally has a strong performance aspect. Elucution poetry are two words that automatically go together based on their definition and tradition. Before the reading, Choose a piece that is not your favorite but has solid potential to practice from. Use friends for a sounding board on the relative strengths of each poem if possible. The best advice for giving a first reading is to let the work stand on its own. A short introduction of yourself and the work is all that is necessary before starting.
