Innocuous

According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, the word innocuous has two definitions. The first definition is: producing no injury; harmless. The second definition is: not likely to give offense or to arouse strong feelings or hostility; inoffensive, insipid. An example sentence would be: The kids played an innocuous game of football. Another example would be: Although they were angry at each other, their behavior was innocuous. In both of these sentences, the word innocuous could be substituted with the word harmless (which is included in the first definition).
