Lateral Thinking
Lateral thinking is thinking that is creative. It is how you come up with your own ideas. If you are laterally thinking you are not coming up with the same answers as others. It is how to find the answer to a problem and it not being an easy answer. You could also be looking for the indirect answer to some sort of a problem
