Raywood Ash

The Raywood Ash is a deciduous tree that grows to be oval and upright. It has a moderate canpoy of about 20 feet. It grows to a height of 30-40 feet. It prefers sun and will perform at its best in the warmer microclimates. It does not tolerate constant wind or fog. It does tolerate well drought, any type of soil and extreme temperatures. The Raywood Ash has dark green, serrated, pinnate leaves, that also has leaflet pairs which are 1" long. The Fall foliage is a beautiful purple-red display. The tree is bare from November-February.

They are within 30 - 40 feet of each other, but due to the slope of the land and the amount of "fill" to level the area, one was planted in deep fill, another in medium fill and the other in light fill.

We have a Raywood ash tree that is in its fourth year in our yard. The tree is not branching out only up. It looks almost like a Lombardy poplar. How can we get it to start branching out? Is this normal for this tree?
