Many people, women especially, are wondering, "How many fat grams should I consume in a day?" If you are a healthy person, looking to maintain your weight, and you have a normal body mass index, you should be taking in no more than 55 grams of fat per day. Your calories should fall between 1700 and 2000. If you are slightly to moderately overweight this number should drop to about 30 grams of fat per day, with calories between 1400 and 1700. For those that are closer to the obese range, your percent of total calories from fat should be 10 percent or less.
