Adam's Rib (1949) is director George Cukor's most famous film of the battle of the sexes - between two married lawyers. The Oscar-nominated screenplay (originally titled Man and Wife) for the sparkling, MGM classic (screwball) comedy of the post-war years was way ahead of its time.
