This yeast substitute, can it be used for baking bread. Cause when I make my challah bread it calls for 2 tbsp of yeast. I just wondered if it would with stand the kneading process, or how long the dough should rise or have a rising stage at all.

You can make soda bread, just use soda or baking powder instead of yeast ... Can I make bread or pizza bases without yeast or can I use a yeast substitute. Just found out my young bloke has an allergy to yeast, & I have a wood fired oven at home. Yeast allergies & wood fired ovens dont go hand in hand.
