Don't try to mix the yeast substitute alone. You could mix baking soda and lemon juice together before you begin your recipe but it won't have the effect your want. Instead gather and prepare your dry ingredients and wet ingredients as you normally would per the recipe you are using.

You can make soda bread, just use soda or baking powder instead of yeast  ... Can I make bread or pizza bases without yeast or can I use a yeast substitute. Just found out my young bloke has an allergy to yeast, & I have a wood fired oven at home. Yeast allergies & wood fired ovens dont go hand in hand.
