It makes cooking steak indoors a joy and what you do is grill both sides to seal in the moisture and then oven it for the rest of the time. The problem is it smells up the ENTIRE house.

I did sear both sides and chose a good cut that was conducive to cooking one steak to suit both my - and my husband's - differing preferences in terms of done-ness. ... I think the thing I miss the most when I cook steak indoors (sear in hot pan, put in oven to finish) is the smoky smell and flavor you get from the grill.

Based on that, (and experience) here's my summary: Searing meat is just cooking it quickly over high heat until a brown crust forms. It doesn't seal a thing! The whole process ... Sear two identical steaks over high heat. Then cook one rare and the other well done. Will the well done steak turn out as juicy as the rare one?

Broiling is a fast method for cooking tender cuts of meats, poultry, ham and fish. The broiler compartment is located beneath the oven. Pull the entire broiler compartment forward to the stop position.

I cook it for another 2-5 mintues depending on the thickness. Then I take it out and put it on a plate for a few mintues before serving. It is heaven! And it is soooo YUM! :); Hope this helps for cooking steak indoors!

Steaks and more steaks, a Texas favorite. BBQ, barbecue, grilled, charcoaled, however you want to say it, these are delicious. Indoors or outdoors, does it really matter ? Just a personal choice and you'll find them both here. A great homemade steak sauce and our favorite dry rub (can be used with anything).
