Difference between Stipend and Salary
There is a big difference between stipend and salary. Stipend pay is generally given for an internship or an apprenticeship. It is different from receiving a salary because it is not necessarily pay for performing a task. Instead, it is given so that the person working will have their finances taken care of so that they can devote themselves to the position. A salary is usually given bi-monthly, monthly, or even annually for employment.

First of all there is a difference between STIPEND and SALARY. Provident Fund is not deductable from STIPEND. The Provident Fund Scheme does not provide for deduction / contribution on & from STIPEND. ESI Act provides for contribution / deductions from & on STIPEND.
