Just as a bad cork can let air slip in and out of your liqueur, so can a bad bottle. If the bottle ... I usually go for a mix of fancy but unreliable bottles and boring but solid ones, with the expectation that the fancy bottles are going to parties that year, and the boring ones are to be kept in personal liquor cabinets.

Ive got a hankerin to alter my mood, and have this bottle of cognac that's been in my closet for at least 5 years. Does alcohol go bad? I wanna get ... most alchohol (read: hard liquor) wont go bad for long long time. Cognac should have no problems. Just look at Scotch and whiskey. Some people say the older the better.
