Ginger Beer Brands

Ginger beer is similar to ginger ale, just stronger. There are many ginger beer brands. Two popular brands are, Reeds Jamaican ginger beer and Bundaberg. Blenheim calls itself ginger ale, but is more similar to ginger beer. They have regular (still spicy) and hot. You can even make your own. Sam's Liquors has most brands of ginger beer. Stewarts, Barretts, and others. Problem is all come in a 4 pack of bottles for about 5 bucks. Sells a lot in Chicago area believe it or not. Stewarts are famous for Birch Beer, Root Beer....same company.

I'd hazard to say that this is the reason that the British export tasted so weird when placed next to all the other higher-in-sugar carbonated American brands. Like beer, traditional ginger beer is brewed through a fermentation process.

You have two options for carbonating your ginger beer: you can ferment it in the bottle, or you can carbonate on-the-fly with an iSi soda siphon. While the soda siphon is easier to use, for the sake of authenticity you might want your ginger beer fermented in the bottle.
