To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet/frying pan, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil. Your stove-top-skillet will be much easier to clean now.

In the other sink turn on the hot water and when it gets really hot then fill sink up with hot water just to the point of covering the lip of the pan put in about 1/2" . put some boiling water and a half cup of vinegar in it and simmer for a wee while. This worked for my stainless steel frying pan! ... Jules I love your suggestion - or at least my daughter would! Luckily I've managed to get my pan clean by soaking it in very hot salty water!!!
