I was searching for a hushpuppy recipe that would come close to the sweet ones I would get at southern seafood restaurants served with honey butter. I left out the green peppers and the green onions. Although the hushpuppies were a little too sweet to use the honey butter, the recipe was awesome.

This recipe has a 4.94 star rating and has been reviewed 16 times ... this is a great recipe. i've never had luck with the texture of mine but these were delicious. i used jiffy corn muffin mix which is sweet already so i didnt add sugar. this is a keeper.

This was a great, simple and quick recipe! My sister and nieces were in town from KS and everyone loved it. I did follow the recipe (which is very hard for me!) although I reduced the sugar to 1/3 C and it was the "just right" sweet! ... These are THE BEST homemade hushpuppies I have ever cooked!! I used 2 TBL spoons...
