Vitis vinifera L. ... vinifera (subsp. sativa Hegi) has hermaphoditic flowers, and fruits 6–22 mm, ellipsoid to globose, green, yellow, red or purple-black, sweet, with -2 seeds which are pyriform with a rather long beak. Cultivated for wine making and for edible fruit in southern and central Europe and widely naturalized.
