An ovary, is a reproductive organ found in females. These oval shaped organs, in the human body, measure approximately 3 cm x 1.5 cm x 1.5 cm. The ovary, is located in the region called the ovarian fossa, in the lateral wall of the pelvis. The fossa lies underneath the external iliac artery and in front of the ureter and the internal iliac artery. Usually each ovary takes turns releasing eggs every month.
