Changes in Cervical Mucus after Conception
The human body is amazing and the fertility cycle is no exception to this. The cervical mucus goes through changes that facilitate fertilization at the right moment. When a woman is most fertile, her cervical mucus becomes copious, wet, clear and slippery, kind of like egg whites, which allows for any sperm introduced to get to their destination quickly and easily. When fertilization is complete, there is no longer any need for this and the mucus becomes small in amount, cloudy, sticky and milky colored. This makes it inhospitable to sperm, since there is no more need for their presence at the time.
