Different Types of Cysts
There are hundreds of types of cysts. One well known type of cyst are in the breast which are part of benign proliferative ("fibrocystic") disease. Another time of cyst is the ovarian cyst. There are cysts within the thyroid gland. There are Baker cyst behind the knee, ganglion cysts of the joints and tendons, and many others. Most cysts are benign. However, they may have symptoms due to their size and/or location.
