Heart Structure
The main purpose of the heart is to pump blood around the body. The heart is divided up into separate right and left sections by the interventricular septum. These right and left sections are also divided into upper and lowers compartments called atria and ventricles. So, the four main chambers of the heart are right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium and left ventricle. You will see a cut-away section through the heart that will show the physical appearance with labels to its major components and blood vessels.
