Home Remedies for Splinters

There are many home remedies for splinters. If a small piece of the splinter is above the skin, cover it with a small dab of glue, wait for the glue to dry, and then remove the glue. It should painlessly pull the splinter out as you remove it. If the splinter is deeper. Cover the area with a layer of honey, and then sprinkle bicarbonate of soda on top. Cover with a band aid overnight. The honey and bicarb of soda should pull the splinter to the surface. Alternatively you can try a small piece of bacon, covered with a band aid and left overnight. The grease and salt should pull the splinter to the surface. Another method is to sterilize a needle and use it to gently work the splinter to the surface. This method however can be quite painful.
