How Long Do Baby Robins Stay in the Nest

Baby robins will stay in the nest about 13-14 days. This really is not long at all and after leaving the nest will be on the ground for another few days before becoming fully flighted. The breeding season for robins is early April to as late as September. Either the female or the male or both will choose a nest site to build a nest. Robins prefer to nest in spruce and maple trees, but they readily adapt to a wide range of vegetation and build structures. Robins will also reuse the same nests form the previous year if it is still there to use. Sometimes the robins will build a new one over the old one.
