How Long Does It Take for Cigarettes to Go Stale
How long does it take for cigarettes to go stale? That is a good question. Cigarettes do have a use by date on the bottom of the pack. Being stale simply means you can smoke them, they just don't taste like they should. Some people say they go stale in about 48 hours if opened. If cigarettes are still in their original package, they will stay good for months.

They don't actually "go bad" like food goes bad, but they do get stale if left opened. They won't taste the same, and be very strong. Three weeks is a bit too long, ... They do go stale, but you gotta figure that would take at least a month, think about all the time they might spend in the storage room of the store you buy...

From my experience, cigarettes seem to get stale if you have an opened pack that is left for too long a period of time (ie. a few weeks). I never had to worry about that ... 10$ sounds pretty good to me ; Yeah, cigs go stale man, if you take the plastic covering off completly on the hard packs, it accelerates the staling.

It doesn't take very long, so register now. ... I decided to quit smoking & go cold Turkey at the end of July, left 1/2 a pack in the glovebox of my car (keep them as a will power test). Found them yesterday, not only do they go stale after sitting there for so long they smell rather offensive though.
