Level 2 Ultrasound Procedure
A level 2 ultrasound procedure is done to see the baby's anatomy in great detail. The exam usually lasts 30-45 minutes. Often times this is done for high risk pregnancies. The reasoning behind a level 2 ultrasound is to see and find structural abnormalities in most of the organs of the growing fetus. A level 2 is done after an earlier ultrasound that may or may not have seen some abnormalities, it is often done to rule out any complications.
