Lipoma Treatments
A lipoma is a benign tumor composed of fat cells. Lipoma treatments aren't usually necessary. However, if the lipoma becomes painful or in a worrisome location, there are several different treatment methods that can be used. Steroid injections can be used to shrink the tumor, but it won't disappear completely. Liposuction is another treatment method that can be used. With liposuction, it will avoid having a large scar, but the lipoma won't disappear completely. Finally, you can have a lipoma surgically removed. Recurrance of a lipoma after surgical removal is slim.
