List of Anesthetic Drugs

Anesthetic drugs are used to temporarily numb a part of the body or to put someone to sleep as the person looses feelings and sensations. Most of these drugs are never over the counter and should only be administered by a trained medical practitioner or anesthesiologist and in a licensed medical facility. The potency of these drugs also requires that the patient is monitored regularly so as to avoid being overdosing. It is also very important that anesthetic drugs are not administered with other drugs which may have a counteracting effect and can lead to complications and death. For more information on a list of anesthetic drugs visit the website of the American Association of Anesthesiologists at http://www.asahq.org/index.htm, as well as a listing can be found on the website of Drugs.com at http://www.drugs.com/condition/anesthesia.html.
