Major Body Organs

The major body organs, except for the brain, are located in the chest cavity and abdomen. The heart and lungs play major roles in the circulation and respiratory system, carrying blood and oxygen throughout. The brain is the head of the nervous system, and is the master control of the entire body. It's located in the skull. Most people don't think of skin as a major organ, but one could not really live without it. It is the largest of the bodies organs. The liver and kidneys, help the body remove toxins and impurities, while the stomach and gall bladder, along with the large and small intestines, process food and discard waste from the body.
