Narcissism

Narcissism is a type of personality disorder where one believes that they are of the utmost importance and should be treated as such. A narcissist is very self-centered, egotistical and does not believe in sharing the spotlight with anyone. Symptoms of narcissism include a lack of empathy, the inability to focus on other people's success, the need for a large amount of adoration and constant talk about their own importance. The term narcissism was coined by Sigmund Freud in his body of work called On Narcissism: An Introduction.
