Peak and Trough Blood Levels

Peak and trough blood levels refer to a drug test administered to check a certain level of drug in a person's system. The "trough" level refers to the level of medication in a persons system right before the next dose of medication is needed. It is the lowest level of medication possible in the system. The "peak" level refers to the amount of medication in a person systems approximately half and hour after the medication. It is the highest level of medication possible in the system.
