Psychology of Guilt

Guilt is an emotion like no other. All other emotions have both a negative and positive effect on you but guilt only has a negative effect. Since guilt brings only a negative emotion, it can be argued that guilt is not a real emotion. Guilt can also be used to manipulate situations in different ways including as motivation to do something that is not principle motivated.
