Quiet Signs
Quiet signs are a great way to warn people in high traffic areas of what is expected of them when in a certain space. The universal sign for quite is a human head with two eyes with the pointer finger over the center of the lips.
If a universal "quite" sign is not available may also want to consider just simply writing it out on a piece of paper. Perhaps a simple phrase like "no talking beyond this point" or "quite please" would suffice.
