Well, first of all, if you have a broken anything, you should go see a doctor immediately to avoid infection. The first stage of healing a broken bone is the laying down of a cartilage template. Then, calcium and phosphorus are added by osteoblasts to the extra cellular matrix. When that process is complete the osteoblasts become mature bone cells.
