Treating Thrush

To treat thrush, the yeast must be put in check. Topical treatments can be effective in treating thrush. For breastfeeding infants, swabbing the nipple with gentian violet before feeding (although this can be messy), washing the nipples with a one-to-four-vinegar-to-water solution between feedings, or tea tree oil applied to the breast can kill off yeast cells.
