Veins in the Arms
The veins in the arm carry the blood from you extremities or fingers into your heart. There are two main veins in the arm which are called the basilic and cephalic veins. When a nurse has to extract blood from a patient usually the first place she tries is the veins in the arms. This is the most readily available vein to extract blood from. Some people have small veins in their arms and so a nurse must look for an alternate location to take blood. Mine really get out at around 11-12 for my arms and around 9-10 or so I get them on my calves quads and shoulders. I mean this when I am at rest. In these last few months, I have been exercising regularly and just out of nowhere, veins start becoming very dark and noticeable on my arms, my chest, the sides of my torso, my legs and calfs. I was so scared that something was wrong with me.

I have a really big problem with my arm veins... My arms look fine if my arms are straight up above my head, or if theyre crossed on my chest. However, if I let my arms hang to the side, immediately (within 2-3 seconds) a whole bunch of huge veins start bulging out of my arms, and they are really noticable.

The veins of the upper extremity are divided into two sets, superficial and deep; the two sets anastomose frequently with each other. The superficial veins are placed immediately beneath the integument between the two layers of superficial fascia.
